Taylor Morris

I don't know the names of any star football players. I don't follow celebrity gossip. I don't know who the popular singers are right now, & I don't know any of the hit songs. I don't know the names of any of the contestants on any of the reality competition shows. I can't tell you who last years American Idol was, but I can tell you the name of one American idol.....he's a true American hero.

Taylor Morris.....read his story. Share it with your friends. Be thankful for the men & women in uniform who serve our country proudly. Stories like Taylor Morris' need to be shared; they need to be heard.

So, I'm doing my part!

Recipe for Happiness

This picture sits on my favorite table at my favorite coffee shop.
I read it every time I sit there.
And I try my best to spread happiness everywhere I go!

Balloons

I don't know why,
but I really LOVE balloons!
I want a helium tank at my house
so I can have balloons everyday.
They make me happy!
THE END. =)

Lately

I had surgery a week ago today.
I went to the doctor today for a checkup.

While in town, my brother-in-law brought my niece to us! I love this girl!
And she loves my Starbucks! =)

1st: Since last Thursday I've wanted to bake...
I finally did that last night.
2nd: I'd rather stand out than get lost in a crowd.
3rd: Relaxing with Woody & my quilt!

She saw McDonald's, & she got excited!!
She loves "fench fies"!!

Memorial Day

And they who for their country die shall fill an honored grave, for glory lights the soldier's tomb, and beauty weeps the brave. (Joseph Drake)

Happy Memorial Day!

I Thank God For Mama

To all the Mothers, to all the soon-to-be Mothers & to those who love a child just as a Mother would....

I wish you a Happy Mother's Day!

Wrecked!!

On my way to work Thursday morning, I wrecked my car. I say I was on my way to work when I was actually about 50 ft. from my place of employment when the wreck occurred. Long story short, I ended up plowing into the passenger side of another car! It was not my fault, but wrecking your car (that you've only had for 7 1/2 months) is NOT the way you want to begin your day, especially at 5 o'clock in the morning! I was blessed, though. I walked (limped) away with a sprained ankle/foot & a bruised knee. My car is fixable, & I have some wonderful people taking care of it for me.

I'm thankful...& I'm blessed.

New Year

my sister's little fellow, Kaden

I didn't really make any resolutions for the New Year.
One thing I have decided, though, is to blog more often.

Stay tuned....

Happy Easter

Hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter Sunday.
It's been a great, beautiful day!

No more lonliness, no more cloudy days. No more crying in the midnight or the fears that just won't fade. No more lonliness, no more skies that all seem gray. For I'm resting in your blood stained hands forever & always. {Kirk Franklin}

...Pray for Kate...

This little girl has been on my mind this week. Kate is a little girl from Arizona who was diagnosed with brain cancer in June, 2009. She recently celebrated her 7th birthday, & shortly after her doctors discovered that the cancer has returned.

Lately, when I get frustrated at my little problems, I stop myself & remember that I am blessed. I think of Kate, & I realize how small & insignificant my problems are compared to what she is going through.

My Daddy always says that no matter what you are going through, you can always look around & find someone who is worse off than you. So, be thankful, no matter what you may be facing, despite your problems, trial & circumstances.

Try not to grumble, fuss & complain about every little thing. There are more important things to worry about. Instead of focusing so much on the things you cannot change...say a little prayer for someone who just might need it more than you. You never know...someone might be doing the same for you!

...No More Walls...

I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.

{Anais Nin}

Everyone

There's such truth in these words.
It's important to be kind to everyone.
You never know what that person might be facing
And your kindness might just make
a big difference in their situation.
Just a thought...

New Name

So, as you can tell, I decided to make a name change.
I've seen a few blogs with the same name as mine,
so I thought I'd go with something different.
I remember looking at some color samples one time,
and Buttercup & Lagoon were two of the available colors.
Buttercup was a dark yellow, and Lagoon was a bright blue.
I love these two colors together,
and I liked the way it sounded when you say them together...Buttercup Lagoon.
It sounds like the name of a cute little thrift shop or bakery.
And now, it's the name of my blog.

Buttercup Lagoon...where I share a few of my favorite things!
